BELTRAMI COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Tanisha Elana Fox, 25, of Cass Lake, has been charged with gross misdemeanor fourth-degree burglary after allegedly stealing merchandise from the Bemidji Walmart on October 30, 2024, while under an active trespass notice prohibiting her from being on store property.

According to a complaint filed in Beltrami County District Court, Walmart Asset Protection (AP) staff witnessed Fox on surveillance video using the self-checkout lane, where she reportedly bagged items without scanning them. She did scan and pay for some merchandise, but allegedly exited the store with $120.98 worth of unpaid items.

Fox was stopped by store security and escorted to the AP office, where she reportedly admitted to the theft. The unpaid items were all recovered. Walmart records show that Fox had previously been trespassed from the store on March 25, 2024, and she had signed an acknowledgment form confirming her ban from the property.

The charge against her—Burglary in the Fourth Degree—carries a maximum penalty of 364 days in jail and/or a $3,000 fine. A review of her criminal history shows a prior conviction for gross misdemeanor child endangerment in August 2023 (Case No. 04-CR-22-954).
