Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Minneapolis woman is facing felony charges after allegedly biting a nurse in the emergency room at Sanford Hospital in Bemidji.

According to court documents, on July 19, 2025, around 12:21 p.m., police responded to a report of an assault at the Sanford ER. Investigators say 39-year-old Victoria Jean Tepiew, who was receiving medical care at the time, became combative and bit a registered nurse on the left hand, breaking the skin and causing pain.

The incident reportedly occurred as medical staff attempted to place Tepiew in soft restraints for her safety after she allegedly attempted self-harm. Police say Tepiew admitted to biting the nurse and told officers she “hated herself.”

Court records show Tepiew has multiple prior convictions, including felony domestic assault and fourth-degree assault, along with several misdemeanor theft, assault, and DWI cases.

Tepiew is charged with fourth-degree felony assault on hospital emergency personnel, a crime punishable by up to two years in prison and/or a $4,000 fine.
