Bemidji (trfnews.i234.me) – A Bemidji woman is facing felony fugitive charges in Beltrami County after authorities say she was wanted on a North Dakota warrant.
According to a criminal complaint, Jamie Maxine Peterson, 43, was arrested in Bemidji on July 26, 2025. Police say Peterson had an active felony warrant issued by the Cass County District Court in Fargo, North Dakota.
Court records show the warrant was issued on March 3, 2025, after Peterson failed to appear at a plea hearing. The underlying charge in North Dakota involved contact by bodily fluids with a healthcare worker or contractor, classified as a Class C felony under state law.
Peterson was located in Beltrami County and taken into custody by Bemidji police. She is now being held as a fugitive from justice, pending extradition proceedings to North Dakota.
Under Minnesota law, fugitives from other states can be held for transfer back to the demanding state under Minn. Stat. 629.13.
The case is under review in Beltrami County District Court, and Peterson will remain in custody until North Dakota authorities arrange her transfer.
