Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Cass Lake woman is now facing felony charges after methamphetamine paraphernalia was discovered in her home, just feet away from a young child.

According to a criminal complaint, around 10:15 PM, Beltrami County Deputy Nicholas Lorsbach responded to a report of domestic assault at a residence on Kappes Lane. The investigation revealed Samantha Ann Jacobs, age 22, had been involved in the altercation. A witness later told authorities she saw a meth pipe in Jacobs’s bedroom.

A search warrant led to the discovery of a glass meth pipe, tin foil, a hollowed-out pen, and baggies, all commonly associated with meth use. Her 4-year-old child was also found living in the home. The drug residue tested positive for methamphetamine.

Jacobs admitted to using meth the day before and drinking alcohol. Due to the unsafe conditions, the child was placed on a 72-hour protective hold.

Jacobs now faces:

  • Felony: Storing Meth Paraphernalia in the Presence of a Child

  • Gross Misdemeanor: Contributing to Child Protection Services Need

Her criminal history includes two prior DWI convictions and a charge for possessing drug paraphernalia.
