Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Cass Lake woman is facing assault charges after allegedly shoving a Bemidji police officer during an incident at a local bar earlier this month.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Beltrami County District Court, 25-year-old Stevie J. Casey has been charged with fourth-degree assault of a peace officer, a gross misdemeanor, following the July 10 incident at Hard Times bar in Bemidji.

Court documents state that officers responded to the bar around 1:24 a.m. after staff reported an intoxicated woman refusing to leave the premises. Upon arrival, officers found Casey on the bathroom floor of the women’s restroom.

After repeated requests, Casey eventually exited the restroom but became verbally abusive toward Officer Yeager. The complaint alleges that Casey then shoved the officer, causing her to briefly lose balance.

If convicted, Casey faces up to 364 days in jail and a $3,000 fine.
