Beltrami County Shock: Armored Vehicle Deployed as Attempted Murder Suspects Captured in Bemidji

Bemidji, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me)On Thursday afternoon, a significant law enforcement operation unfolded in Bemidji, Beltrami County, as authorities apprehended two suspects linked to an attempted homicide case from Scott County. The operation, which included the deployment of an armored vehicle, took place in the 1300 block of Bemidji Avenue.

According to the Bemidji Police Department, officers received information from the Jordan Police Department indicating that David Scott and Chauncey Oothoutdt were in the Bemidji area. Collaborating with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and other agencies, officers conducted surveillance on multiple locations.

David Scott was located at a residence in the 1300 block of Bemidji Avenue. A search warrant was executed, and Scott was arrested without incident. Shortly thereafter, Chauncey Oothoutdt was found at a residence in the 800 block of 26th Street NW and was also taken into custody without incident.

The operation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Headwaters Safe Trails Violent Crimes Task Force, Scott County Sheriff’s Office, and the Jordan Police Department.

The presence of an armored vehicle and a large police force drew significant attention from local residents, many of whom took to social media to share their observations.

Further details regarding the arrests and the underlying case have not been released at this time. Authorities have indicated that the investigation is ongoing.
