Beltrami County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — Deputies from the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to a distressing domestic assault report at a cabin in Blackduck. Upon arrival, they encountered S.R., who appeared visibly upset and reported that her partner, 34-year-old Errick Steven Toa of Hines, had choked and punched her during a heated argument.

According to the criminal complaint, the altercation began after S.R. discovered Toa’s infidelity. She attempted to distance herself by barricading in a bedroom, but Toa allegedly forced entry using utensils, which deputies later found bent near the door. S.R. recounted that Toa lifted her off the bed by her neck and punched her in the chest. He also reportedly threw her phone outside and damaged a television.

Deputies observed physical evidence supporting S.R.’s account, including a broken door frame and a damaged TV. Toa had fled the scene on foot before law enforcement’s arrival.
