Beltrami County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – We have an update in a federal case involving a Bemidji resident.
Jody Sherry-Berg is charged with interference with flight crew members and attendants.
Prosecutors allege she assaulted a flight attendant on January 16.
The flight was from Las Vegas to Grand Forks, according to records.
A planned summer trial was continued. The new trial date is November 18.
It is set in Fargo for a two-day jury trial, court records indicate.
Sherry-Berg previously faced a state charge for false information.
That state charge was dismissed after the case moved to federal court.
The federal charge carries a maximum penalty of up to 20 years.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
According to the complaint, the conduct hindered crew duties.
It alleges an assault by grabbing the attendant’s genitals.
The federal statute is 49 U.S.C. § 46504.
The law covers threats, intimidation, or assault against crew members.
Such acts can disrupt safety and order on board an aircraft.
The case will be heard in the U.S. District Court for North Dakota.

Officials have not released further evidence filings at this time.

We will note any updates from federal court records.
Background: Sherry-Berg was arrested after the flight landed.
She was accused of giving a false name to officers that night.
The state count was later dismissed as the federal case proceeded.
Victim information is limited in public filings for privacy reasons.
Airlines may also impose their own administrative bans.
Those actions are separate from the criminal process.

We will continue to track filings ahead of the November trial.
