Becker County (trfnews.i234.me)—An Ogema teenager, Wambli Ray Warren, 18, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony threats of violence following a January incident at a Detroit Lakes gas station. A second felony charge, intent to terrorize, was dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

According to court records, around 11 p.m. on January 20, a Detroit Lakes police officer was alerted to a threat involving a handgun at a local gas station. A man called 911, reporting that he had been threatened at the gas station and was being followed by the individual who threatened him. The man drove toward the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, where officers and deputies intercepted both vehicles.

The victim informed the officer that Warren approached him at the gas station regarding a prior report he had made to law enforcement, accusing Warren of slashing his tires. Warren questioned the victim about the charges and allegedly threatened to “pull a Glock” on him. Warren then grabbed his waistband, leading the victim to believe he had a handgun.

Authorities located and stopped Warren’s vehicle, discovering a Glock BB gun with fabric wrapped around the grip during a search. Surveillance footage from the gas station corroborated the victim’s account, showing Warren with his hand near his waistband during the exchange.

When questioned, Warren admitted to confronting the victim about the charges and signaling him to pull over while on the road. He also stated that he invited the victim to his house to “fight it out” and “beat his ass.”

On March 19, Warren was sentenced to serve 30 days in the Becker County Jail, with credit for 23 days served. He was placed on supervised probation for three years, with the possibility of reducing the conviction to a misdemeanor upon successful completion. As part of his probation, Warren is prohibited from possessing firearms, ammunition, explosives, drugs, alcohol, or other mood-altering substances, except for prescribed medications. He is also required to complete a comprehensive assessment and follow all recommendations, including aftercare. Additionally, Warren was fined $1,000 plus $160 in court fees.
