Becker County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A 21-year-old rural Ogema woman is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after allegedly spitting on a police officer and making threats during an arrest in White Earth earlier this month.

According to Becker County District Court records, on the afternoon of July 5, a White Earth police officer responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Beaver Trail. At the scene, officers found Kaylynn Lea Jackson and several family members. Jackson and a sibling had reportedly been physically fighting, with both showing injuries and signs of intoxication. The altercation had reportedly upset an older relative in the home.

Both young women were arrested and placed into separate squad cars. Jackson allegedly began banging on the squad car door, prompting an officer to check on her. When he tried to close the door, she repeatedly blocked it with her hands and feet before allegedly spitting in his face.

While being transported to the Becker County Jail, Jackson allegedly screamed profanities at another officer, called her derogatory names, and threatened to beat or kill her.

Jackson is charged with felony fourth-degree assault of a peace officer and misdemeanor disorderly conduct – brawling or fighting.

She posted a $7,500 bond on July 7 under conditions prohibiting alcohol or drug use and requiring no assaultive behavior.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for August 4 before District Judge Michael Fritz.
