Becker County (trfnews.i234.me) — A felony obstruction charge has been dismissed in Becker County District Court against Adrian Matthew Warren, 27, of Ponsford, Minnesota.

According to court records, the case stems from a June 7, 2025, incident in which Becker County deputies went to a residence on the Pow Wow Highway to arrest Warren on a felony probable-cause warrant issued out of Mahnomen County.

A deputy reported that as he approached the east door of the home, he saw it closed and heard the deadbolt lock. Deputies called for Warren to come out, but no one responded. Warren’s grandmother eventually exited and told officers he was still inside.

While a search warrant was being prepared, law enforcement received a 911 call from a male voice at the same address, trying to report suspicious activity elsewhere. Investigators believed the call came from Warren as a diversion attempt.

Once a judge approved the warrant, the Becker County SWAT team arrived and issued multiple commands over a public-address system for Warren to surrender. After a lengthy standoff, Warren called dispatch, saying he would come out, but he did not. Gas was then deployed into the residence, and he was taken into custody without further incident.

On October 30, the Becker County Attorney’s Office dismissed the felony and misdemeanor obstruction charges without prejudice, citing prosecutorial discretion. Officials said Warren remains in custody on other serious charges, and dropping the Becker County case would promote judicial efficiency at this time. For background on Minnesota obstruction statutes, see Minnesota Statute §609.50.
