DETROIT LAKES MN (trfnews.i234.me)—A Becker County man, Beaux Michael Duvall Jr., 36, of rural Ponsford, is facing multiple felony charges, including second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and third-degree assault, following an alleged stabbing incident on July 31, 2024.

Stabbing Incident in Detroit Lakes

According to court records, Duvall allegedly attacked a man outside a Detroit Lakes residence, punching him in the face and then stabbing him in the chest. The victim, who had arrived to drop off a child, suffered a punctured lung and was treated at a local hospital. Several neighbors reportedly witnessed the altercation.

Drug Trafficking Charges

In an unrelated case, Duvall is also facing first-degree drug possession and fifth-degree drug possession charges. Authorities say he was under investigation for drug trafficking when he was pulled over for speeding on Highway 34 in Becker County on February 19, 2024.

During the stop, a West Central Minnesota Drug Task Force agent spoke with Duvall, who then produced a sandwich bag containing over 25 grams of fentanyl and 2.5 grams of cocaine.

Bail and Court Proceedings

Duvall’s bail was set at $50,000 without conditions. He can also be released on $20,000 bond or $2,000 cash bail, with conditions that include no drug or alcohol use and no contact with the victim.

Duvall’s next court date is a settlement conference scheduled for April 9, 2025. If no agreement is reached, he is set to go to trial on April 15, 2025, before District Judge Gretchen D. Thilmony.
