Barnes County Motorcycle Crash Kills Paynesville Man

Barnes County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Paynesville, Minnesota, man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 94 in Barnes County on Wednesday evening.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 5:55 p.m. on August 20 near mile marker 298.

Authorities say a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling westbound when the driver lost control. The motorcycle left the roadway and entered the median.

The 66-year-old driver, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained fatal injuries at the scene. A 39-year-old female passenger from Paynesville, who was also not wearing a helmet, was injured. She was taken to a medical facility for treatment.

Weather and road conditions were reported to be good at the time of the crash.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Barnes County Sheriff’s Office, Valley City Police Department, Barnes County Ambulance, Barnes County Fire, and Sanford AirMed.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
