Barnes County, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A disturbing case unfolded in Oriska, North Dakota, where William Smith is facing a stack of criminal charges after allegedly threatening to “put a bullet” in a man’s face.
The incident began when a woman called police, claiming Smith had become enraged, allegedly after being asked if he was on drugs. She said Smith threw a suspected wedding ring at her car, chipped the windshield, blocked her from leaving with a garage shelf, and snatched her keys from the ignition, throwing them away.
She also told officers that Smith repeatedly threatened to shoot her ex-husband in the head. That ex-husband arrived later and confirmed he wanted to press charges.
Smith was later pulled over by Valley City Police and arrested for DUI. A search of his vehicle turned up an alcohol-smelling 64-ounce flask, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Officers noted the smell of alcohol and weed inside the car.
During questioning at the Barnes County Jail, Smith was reportedly uncooperative—claiming the woman had assaulted him and denying the shooting threat, though he admitted to threatening to punch the ex-husband.
Smith now faces felony charges of terrorizing, felonious restraint, theft, DUI/APC (2 counts), and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
