Where: Southbound Barnes County Road 21 & 30th St SE (2 miles north of Valley City, ND)
When: May 12th, 2024 at 5:30 P.M. Central Time
Road Conditions: Dry asphalt
Weather Conditions: Partly Cloudy
Crash Involvement: Motorcycle left the roadway and overturned

Vehicle No. 1: 1980 Harley Davidson motorcycle
Driver No. 1: Male, 45, of Valley City, ND – injured
Restraints: No helmet
Charges: Driving under the influence

Narrative:
The male driver was southbound on County Road 21 driving towards Valley City. The driver
lost control and ran off the road coming to rest in the west ditch. The driver was not wearing a
helmet and sustained serious life-threatening injuries.
The Barnes County Ambulance treated the male on scene before he was transported to CHI
Mercy Hospital in Valley City before being flown by Sanford AirMed to Sanford in Fargo.
The male remains in the care of Sanford. He was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
