VERMILLION, S.D. – North Dakota State senior Reagan Baesler captured the Summit League individual cross country title on Saturday morning, leading the Bison women to a second-place finish in the team standings.
Baesler clocked a course record 20:34.1 for the six-kilometer race at The Bluffs Golf Course, winning by a 24-second margin. Her time was the second-fastest winning 6k performance in Summit League Championships history.
Baesler’s first-place finish gives the Bison women five Summit League individual crowns in cross country, with the most recent being Kelby Anderson in 2019.
NDSU finished with 70 points in the team standings, good for second place behind South Dakota State.
NDSU senior Grace Link placed fifth overall in 21:03.6. Three freshmen completed the team scoring for the Bison as the No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5 finishers. Jenna DeBates was 16th in 21:47.0, Jaelyn Miller took 22nd in 22:08.1, and Reagan Berg placed 28th in 22:20.3.
Link joined Baesler in earning All-Summit League first team honors as top-seven finishers on Saturday.
The Bison will compete at the NCAA Midwest Regional in Peoria, Ill., on Nov. 15.
