Baudette, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — A deeply disturbing case has rocked the town of Baudette this holiday season. On December 24th, 2024, a 10-week-old infant was rushed to a local hospital with a suspicious broken leg. But that was only the beginning.
Medical imaging later revealed multiple fractures—a fractured arm, hip, and more—believed to have occurred over time, not from a single incident. The baby was immediately flown to Essentia Health in Duluth for specialized treatment.
Michael Rory Lucek claimed he “accidentally dropped the child”, while Kyra Lynn Hanson denied harming the infant. But investigators found enough evidence to charge Lucek with felonies of child torture and first-degree assault. Hanson now faces a felony and gross misdemeanor for negligent child endangerment for allegedly doing nothing to stop the abuse.
