Austin, MN: Shocking Crash on 14th St. NW – Alcohol Involved, Passenger Hospitalized!

Austin, MN (trfnews.i234.me)A collision occurred on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 8:09 PM at the intersection of 14th St. NW and 4th Ave in Austin, Mower County. The incident involved a 2011 Honda Civic and a 2020 Dodge Journey.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the driver of the Honda Civic, Alfonso Lopez Ramos, a 38-year-old male from Austin, was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the Dodge Journey, Christopher Mark Brekke, a 44-year-old male from Austin, also sustained no injuries and was wearing a seatbelt. A passenger in the Dodge Journey, Emma Lauren Brekke, a 21-year-old female from Austin, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to MCHS Austin. She was wearing a seatbelt.

The road conditions were dry at the time of the crash. Alcohol involvement is suspected in the incident. The Mayo Clinic Ambulance responded to the scene.
