Aurora Woman Charged with Arson, Assault, and Fentanyl Possession After Townhouse Fire

Incident Details

According to court documents, on January 24, 2025, at 3:45 PM, officers from the East Range Police Department and the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a townhouse on fire at 320 East 4th Avenue North in Aurora.

The townhouse, part of an eight-unit complex with shared walls, is reserved for families with children.

Upon arrival, a deputy encountered Beddo standing outside the burning residence. When questioned about the fire, Beddo allegedly stated, “I lit it up,” before throwing a green BIC lighter on the ground, which was later collected as evidence.

Fire and Arrest

  • Beddo allegedly admitted to setting the fire multiple times, even expressing concern for her boyfriend, claiming he may still be inside.
  • Fire crews and law enforcement evacuated neighboring townhouses to ensure no other residents were inside.
  • Beddo was arrested and taken to Northern Pines Hospital, where authorities suspected she was under the influence of controlled substances.

Hospital Assault and Drug Possession

While at the hospital, an adult female nurse attempted to administer medication, at which point Beddo reportedly “freaked out” and kicked the nurse in the back.

Authorities later discovered fentanyl in her possession, adding to her criminal charges.
