BREAKING: A violent out-of-state fugitive has been captured in Grand Forks!
Grand Forks Police, acting on a tip, arrested 23-year-old Dwight McCormick outside the Roadway Inn on Thursday afternoon. McCormick, who was wanted in North Carolina for stolen firearms, kidnapping, and armed robbery, was taken into custody without incident.
Police Staked Out the Hotel
According to Sergeant Kin of the Grand Forks Police Department, officers received intelligence that McCormick was staying at the hotel. A large police presence was on standby, waiting for him to exit.
Arrest Made Without Resistance
When McCormick stepped outside, officers moved in and arrested him on the spot. Despite his violent criminal history, the fugitive did not resist.
Awaiting Extradition to North Carolina
McCormick remains in custody awaiting extradition back to North Carolina, where he faces serious charges.
