Arrest In Moorhead, Attempted Murder With A Knife

MOORHEAD, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Moorhead woman has been arrested after allegedly slashing a man’s neck with a knife in a life-threatening attack late Thursday night. Moorhead police reported that 36-year-old Mary N. Hjelseth was taken into custody without incident in the 3000 block of 18th Street South. She is currently being held in the Clay County Jail facing multiple charges, including second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, and domestic assault causing great bodily harm.

Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 1800 block of 20th Street after receiving a report of a serious neck injury. The 43-year-old male victim, who lived in the apartment, told police that the attack was unprovoked and that his female friend fled the scene after the assault. The victim sought help from a neighbor before authorities arrived.

Mary N. Hjelseth was arrested shortly after the incident.
