On July 1 at about 9:46 p.m., dispatch received a report about a suspicious man walking near the intersection of Fourth Street and State Avenue.
Jason Ray Scott, 46, Thief River Falls, has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and carrying a gun while under the influence of alcohol.
He was arrested.
According to the complaint, while wearing a revolver in a holster around his chest, Scott allegedly stopped and talked to some people.
Afterward, they reported the incident to the Law Enforcement Center. When a sheriff’s deputy arrived, Scott was taking the holster off.
He also possessed a pill bottle containing .22-caliber ammunition.
Scott allegedly said he had been drinking alcohol.
A preliminary breath test had a result of 0.17.
A later PBT had a result of 0.14. Scott also said he had a permit to carry the gun, but law enforcement determined that wasn’t true.
The Smith & Wesson firearm had been reported stolen in Las Vegas.
