Fargo (trfnews.i234.me) — A Fargo man, Jamal Duncan, is now facing felony theft charges after police caught him with the keys to a stolen car and multiple outstanding warrants.
According to court documents, on the night of February 28th, an officer spotted an unoccupied Toyota Camry in a gas station parking lot on Main Avenue. A routine license plate check revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen.
As police monitored the situation, Duncan walked out of the gas station, spotted the officer, and quickly re-entered the store before later coming back out. Instead of approaching the stolen vehicle, he got into a different car with three other people, which was parked right in front of the Camry.
Police conducted a traffic stop on the car Duncan entered. A search revealed the stolen vehicle’s keys in his pocket, and surveillance video confirmed he had exited the driver’s seat of the stolen Camry.
Duncan was arrested and charged with felony theft of property. Police also confirmed that he had multiple outstanding warrants.
