Incident Details

On January 24, 2025, the Griggs County Sheriff’s Office and a deputy responded to a residence in Cooperstown for a reported disturbance involving Towell.

  • Towell had been arguing with a couple about retrieving his belongings from the home.
  • During the altercation, he allegedly entered the residence carrying a shotgun but did not point it directly at anyone.
  • He later slashed the tire of a pickup truck parked outside the residence.
