Incident Details
On January 24, 2025, the Griggs County Sheriff’s Office and a deputy responded to a residence in Cooperstown for a reported disturbance involving Towell.
- Towell had been arguing with a couple about retrieving his belongings from the home.
- During the altercation, he allegedly entered the residence carrying a shotgun but did not point it directly at anyone.
- He later slashed the tire of a pickup truck parked outside the residence.
Alcohol Involvement and Arrest
- Towell’s blood alcohol content (BAC) was measured at .25, which is three times the legal driving limit in North Dakota (.08).
