ANOKA COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) – A former Anoka County work-release officer has pleaded guilty to having sexual contact with an inmate.
Court records show 30-year-old Kendra Faye Dunblazier admitted Tuesday to one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. The charge stemmed from a prohibited relationship that took place between July and October 2024 at the Anoka County Workhouse.
According to the criminal complaint, Dunblazier began her job on July 1, 2024, working night shifts. One inmate under her supervision had work release privileges.
The case started after Dunblazier’s husband reported suspicious text messages to jail staff in October 2024. She was placed on leave and resigned immediately.
Investigators reviewed text messages, phone records, and other evidence. Records showed more than 280 phone calls between Dunblazier and the inmate, many with sexual content. Messages also discussed meeting in parking garages during the inmate’s release time.
Evidence also included nude photos, explicit texts, and a handwritten note found in the inmate’s vehicle. Investigators say she even expressed love and used his last name. A bottle of Viagra pills was also recovered.
Phone conversations captured Dunblazier saying she believed she was pregnant by the inmate. That pregnancy was not successful, according to the complaint.
During an interview, Dunblazier admitted to sexual contact but claimed none occurred during her shifts inside the facility. She also confirmed sending explicit photos and texts.
Under her plea agreement, she will receive a stayed 24-month prison sentence for three years. She must also register as a predatory offender for 10 years and complete a psychosexual evaluation with treatment. A more serious third-degree charge will be dismissed at sentencing.
