Anoka County, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — A disturbing criminal case has emerged involving a Blaine elementary teacher who allegedly recorded inappropriate video of a minor student and distributed it.
Jason Allen Bassett, a teacher at Jefferson Elementary in Blaine, has been charged with interference with privacy involving a minor under 18, following allegations that he filmed video up the dress of a third-grade girl inside a classroom.
According to court documents, on June 2, 2025, Bassett’s ex-wife contacted police after he sent their daughter a video. That video allegedly showed Bassett filming a young girl reaching into a cupboard, capturing footage up her dress, and exposing her underwear. Bassett reportedly appeared on camera and gave directions to the child.
Bassett admitted to investigators that he recorded the video and “knew it was wrong”.
He has since appeared in court and is now facing a felony charge in Anoka County.
