Anoka County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – A Fridley man has been convicted of first-degree murder in a Coon Rapids triple homicide that shocked the community last year. Jurors found 39-year-old Alonzo Pierre Mingo guilty on multiple counts Friday for the January 26, 2024, killings of three adults inside a home on 94th Avenue NW.

The victims were identified as 39-year-old Mario Alberto Trejo Estrada, 42-year-old Shannon Patricia Jungwirth, and her 20-year-old son, Jorge Alexander Reyes-Jungwirth. All three were fatally shot in the head during what prosecutors described as a robbery staged to look like a package delivery.

Investigators say Mingo, a former UPS employee, arrived wearing a uniform shirt and vest while holding a cardboard box. Surveillance video from inside the house captured Mingo and two accomplices—identified as Omari Malik Shumpert and Demetrius Trenton Shumpert—forcing the victims at gunpoint while two small children were present. The footage showed Mingo fatally shooting Jungwirth and Reyes-Jungwirth, while Estrada was shot by one of the accomplices during a struggle.

Responding officers found the victims dead and the children moving through the home. DNA, fingerprints, and surveillance evidence tied Mingo to the scene. His vehicle, a navy blue Nissan Altima, was recorded arriving and leaving. Hours later, police arrested him in Fridley during a traffic stop. A UPS vest and uniform shirt were found in his backpack, and his fingerprints matched those on the box carried into the home.

A grand jury indicted Mingo on six counts of first-degree murder and additional counts of second-degree murder. Each first-degree conviction carries a mandatory life sentence without parole. Sentencing is scheduled for September 11 in Anoka County District Court.

The Shumpert brothers also face first-degree murder charges. Their trials are set to begin later this year.
