Angler Alleges Gunfire Incident Involving Boats on Devils Lake

DEVILS LAKE, ND (trfnews.i234.me) A fisherman claims shots were fired at a group of boaters-fisherman on Devils Lake Saturday afternoon.
[Music] i just spoke with a man who claims he was with uh 14 boaters on the east side of devils lake at black tiger bay on saturday afternoon uh when gunfire erupted and the inset here is a bullet recovered from a boat motor he says it went through the shroud of the boat motor and was lodged up against the engine manifold the victim says they were likely as many as 100 shots he says he’s an avid shooter and just thought it was someone having fun with their semi-automatic and all of a sudden there were rounds going towards the group of 14 boaters out on black tiger bay no one was injured but he’s very upset and says he hit the bottom of his boat and was scared for his life now on this uh tuesday afternoon i just talked with benson county sheriff ethan rohde who says they are investigating he says but deputies could not find any shell cases he said they thought they would have found shell casings if this actually happened he says at this point they are headed over this afternoon to pick up that bullet and take a look at it we’ll keep you updated i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
