POLK COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) – An Alvarado, Minnesota, man is facing a felony property damage charge after allegedly causing significant destruction during a domestic dispute in East Grand Forks.
According to court documents, Max Steven Kallock of Alvarado has been charged with First-Degree Criminal Damage to Property, a felony offense under Minnesota law. The incident occurred on November 1st, when police were called to an East Grand Forks apartment following reports of a domestic disturbance.
Investigators say Kallock lost his temper during an argument and allegedly smashed a bedroom set and a smart TV valued at approximately $1,750, in addition to punching a hole in the apartment wall.
Under Minnesota statute, first-degree criminal damage to property applies when damage exceeds $1,000 or is part of an act that risks harm or involves domestic violence. The offense carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
No serious physical injuries were reported, but the case has been referred to the Polk County Attorney’s Office for prosecution. Kallock is expected to make his first court appearance later this month.
