Alison was born March 11, 1975, in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin to John and Terri Laurie. She moved to Grand Forks, ND with her parents in 1977. She completed Special Education through Grand Forks Public Schools.
Alison was a truly special person who loved puzzles, Disney movies, and diet Coke! She especially loved lunches with her mom and stepdad, Ray, at Gramma Butterwick’s. Her favorite waitress Kim always knew to greet Alison with a diet Coke and peanut butter crackers.
Alison received services through Development Homes Inc for over 30 years. We want to thank all of her wonderful caregivers at DHI, who showed her so much love and considered her family. She also attended day services at Listen Center, whose staff loved working with her.
We also want to express our deepest gratitude for the exceptional care Alison received from Altru Intensive Care and Altru Comfort Care. Alison is survived by her mother and stepfather, Terri & Ray Keehr; father and stepmother, John & Linda Laurie; siblings: Pamela Laurie (Scott Miroff) Las Vegas, NV, Jill Whitmore (Mike), Grand Forks and Ian Laurie (Lacie) Grand Forks; stepsisters: Lindsay Keyser (Chris), Jordan Willemssen (Kyle), and Sidney Heider (Jaden); half-brothers: Sean Laurie and Colin Laurie.
