Alexandria, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — On Tuesday evening, May 6, 2025, emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle crash in Alexandria, Douglas County. Authorities say 66-year-old Michael Leo Murphy of Alexandria was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on 34th Avenue when he failed to navigate the roundabout at Minnesota Highway 27, striking the traffic circle and crashing.
The crash occurred around 8:27 p.m., and alcohol was confirmed to be involved, according to the Minnesota State Patrol report. Despite the severity of the impact, Murphy was wearing a seat belt, and airbags deployed in the vehicle, helping reduce the severity of his injuries. He was transported to Alomere Health in Alexandria with non-life-threatening injuries.
