An Alabama truck driver, Demetria Clayton, is in hot water after being pulled over for a suspected DUI in Grand Forks and allegedly attempting to bribe the arresting officer with $3,000. According to court documents, the incident occurred on July 7th, just before 10 p.m., when an officer responded to reports of a potential drunk driver behind the wheel of a semi.

Upon stopping the truck on the 1700 block of Demers Avenue, the officer noticed Clayton’s bloodshot, watery eyes and the smell of alcohol. Clayton admitted to drinking and failed a field sobriety test. She was subsequently arrested.

At the jail, Clayton allegedly asked the officer to turn off his body camera and offered him up to $3,000, saying, “I don’t want that on my record. You can have $3,000 in your pocket.” She now faces charges of felony bribery, DUI, and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
