Aitkin County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – An Aitkin County man is facing felony drug charges after officers say they discovered fentanyl during a traffic stop in Spalding Township on July 19, 2025.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Aitkin County District Court, Mikel Thomas Greensky, 37, of McGregor was charged with:

  • Felony Fifth-Degree Controlled Substance Possession (0.74 grams of fentanyl)

  • Misdemeanor Driving After Revocation

The Mille Lacs Tribal Police Department reports that Officer Carter Tornio observed a 2009 Chevrolet Impala commonly driven by Greensky parked at a Shell gas station in Spalding Township. Tornio recognized Greensky, knew his driving privileges were revoked, and confirmed through dispatch that he also had an active Aitkin County warrant.

Tornio initiated a traffic stop near 200th Avenue and 360th Street. After arresting Greensky, the officer conducted a search and found a metal container in Greensky’s pocket containing a baggie of suspected fentanyl and a cut straw with residue. A pipe with black residue was also recovered.

Greensky allegedly claimed the pipe was used for marijuana and stated he picked up the container “because it was shiny.” Testing by TruNarc confirmed the substance as fentanyl, weighing approximately 0.74 grams. The substance was sent to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for further analysis.

Court records indicate Greensky’s driving privileges were revoked on March 29, 2025, and have not been reinstated.
