MALMO TOWNSHIP, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) – A serious two-vehicle crash on Saturday, July 5, sent four people to the hospital or left them injured in Aitkin County.
At approximately 4:35 p.m., a 2024 GMC Sierra driven by Erich John Lamere, 40, of Hugo, was southbound on Highway 47 and turned directly in front of a 2016 Ram 3500, driven by Daryl Donald Sonnee, 72, of Isle, which was traveling northbound at highway speed.
The impact injured:

Erich Lamere (no hospital transport, not wearing a seat belt)

Croix Marshall Lamere, 10 (not transported, seat belt worn)

Daryl Sonnee (taken to Crosby Hospital, no seat belt)

Wyatt William Nelson, 22, of Ham Lake (also transported to Crosby Hospital, no seat belt)
Responding agencies included Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office, Aitkin Fire, North EMS, and Mille Lacs EMS.
