AITKIN COUNTY: 4 Hurt After Pickup Collision Near Malmo Market on Hwy 47 | trfnews.i234.me

MALMO TOWNSHIP, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) – A serious two-vehicle crash on Saturday, July 5, sent four people to the hospital or left them injured in Aitkin County.

At approximately 4:35 p.m., a 2024 GMC Sierra driven by Erich John Lamere, 40, of Hugo, was southbound on Highway 47 and turned directly in front of a 2016 Ram 3500, driven by Daryl Donald Sonnee, 72, of Isle, which was traveling northbound at highway speed.

The impact injured:

  • Erich Lamere (no hospital transport, not wearing a seat belt)

  • Croix Marshall Lamere, 10 (not transported, seat belt worn)

  • Daryl Sonnee (taken to Crosby Hospital, no seat belt)

  • Wyatt William Nelson, 22, of Ham Lake (also transported to Crosby Hospital, no seat belt)

Responding agencies included Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office, Aitkin Fire, North EMS, and Mille Lacs EMS.
