Adelyne Lillian Gibbs, 92 of Grand Forks, North Dakota died Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Valley Senior Living, Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Adelyne Sorensen was born on October 20, 1931, in Baudette, Minnesota, the daughter of Peter and Adeline Sorensen. She grew up and attended school in the Baudette area. She married Jim Gibbs on June 9, 1951. They owned and worked side by side at the A & W Drive In until retirement.
Adelyne was a charter member of Faith Evangelical Free Church where she remained active until her death. She loved being in the kitchen with all of her family around her, enjoying her delicious meals and extraordinary baking. She will be missed dearly.
Adelyne was preceded in death by her husband, Jim.
Adelyne is survived by her two sons, Dustin (Arlyce) and Mitchell (Jode); eight grandchildren, Tyler Gibbs, Jacy (Jerrod) Burris, Annie (Shane) Sutton, Amber (Joe) Hjelmen, Abbie (Matt) Fischer, April Gibbs, Peter (Amelia) Gibbs, Joe (Randi) Gibbs; twenty-four great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Riverside Christian School.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Faith Evangelical Free Church, Grand Forks, North Dakota. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Faith Evangelical Free Church, Grand Forks, North Dakota.
