Additional Arrests Reported Amid Line 3 Protest This Week

FLOODWOOD, MN (trfnews.i234.me) A Fergus Falls woman was among 7 people arrested during a Stop Line 3 protest this week.
you had a choice to do something different like these brave people standing around us they’re doing something very different they’re choosing to stand with the original peoples of this place we’ve been here for thousands of years thousands of years and still you come for the last of it that’s some video from earlier this week from the stop line three protest group on uh thursday uh seven people were arrested near floodwood west of uh duluth on the pipeline st louis county sheriff’s office said individuals protesting the line 3 oil pipeline were locking themselves to a gate used by workers to access the pipeline construction site when deputies arrive they have found as many as 30 individuals were demonstrated against the pipeline at two separate locations four of the individuals had crossed into the construction area and locked themselves to heavy machinery two other individuals had locked themselves to a gate used to access the construction site uh six of the individuals were extricated from the locks and devices and placed under arrest one additional individual who refused to leave when ordered was also arrested uh seven were transported to the saint louis county jail in duluth and on pending charges of gross misdemeanor trespass and obstructing the legal process i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me

  1. Line 3 went through the most detailed permitting process any company has faced and the plan was approved.

    This new pipeline replaces 60 year old technology which has been in service and rusting away for that entire time.

    Pipeline is much safer and energy efficient than any other method.

    When I drive past sites of the newly covered Line 3, I do not see how it can possibly affect Native American hunting rights.

    It is also obvious fossil fuel will be required in our society for some time to come.

    Electric vehicles will require much more copper and other minerals. I suspect those who are protesting the pipeline will become copper mine protestors too.

    All that is obvious to each of us. I think the protestors should simply go home.
