Ada, Norman County (trfnews.i234.me) — A 34-year-old Ada man is facing a gross misdemeanor charge in Norman County after a woman reported unwanted sexual contact inside a home in Ada.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Minnesota District Court, Christopher Jacob Thorsen, of Ada, has been charged with fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct. The charge alleges nonconsensual sexual contact.
What the Complaint Says
The complaint says the reported incident happened on February 25, 2026, in Ada. Court records state the woman was sleeping on a couch at her sister and brother-in-law’s home.
She told law enforcement that she woke up at about 5:00 a.m. and saw Thorsen standing behind the couch. The complaint says he asked her questions, including whether she had a boyfriend and why she was awake so early.
According to the complaint, Thorsen then rubbed her shoulder and back. The woman told authorities he then reached around and touched her breast without her consent.
The complaint states Thorsen’s wife was asleep nearby when the alleged contact happened.
Defendant’s Response
According to the same complaint, Thorsen admitted that he rubbed the woman’s back. He told investigators he was trying to help her fall back to sleep. However, he denied touching her breast.
The charge listed in the complaint is a gross misdemeanor. In Minnesota, that charge can carry up to 364 days in jail and a fine of up to $3,000, depending on the outcome of the case.
