a Federal grand jury is charging five residents of northern Minnesota alleging systemic torture endangerment neglect and abuse of a boy 12 or 13 years old at the time the indictment accuses 49 year old Trina May Johnson of Red Lake of directing abuse of the youth who was in foster care with four others accused of aiding and abetting investigators say in four the four in 2021 and part of 2022 withheld food from the boy to the point of starvation and malnourishment forced him to stand in uncomfortable positions for long periods of time deprived him of asleep and assaulted him with hands and objects the alleged abuse happened on the Red Lake Indian Reservation
