north dakota attorney general wayne stengem has died at the age of 68. he was taken by ambulance from his home friday morning after his brother reportedly said he fell and was dealing with an ulcer from grand forks uh districts 42 he’d served in the north dakota house and senate for 24 years followed by 22 years as the attorney general he’d recently announced his retirement on a personal note i knew stengen from his days in grand forks as an avid trivia player every saturday at a local watering hole uh and at the start of the war in iraq i was embedded with the north dakota national guard stenjim the father would call me occasionally to keep tabs on his son andrew who was serving in iraq a nice man devoted to his family in service to estate wayne stengen the longest-serving attorney general of north dakota state history gone at the age of 68. i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me

  1. While I didn't also agree with him politically, he was a good Atty General and did his best to defend the laws passed by our legislature at the federal level.

  2. Great guy. Helped me with some jurisdictional arguments and we spoke at length about the slush fund ND operated that pay for endless attys for badly run health clinics. He cared about justice.
