According to police, a person known to the victim shot and killed a man in south Minneapolis on Thanksgiving morning.
The Minneapolis Police Department said officers responded around 6:30 a.m. Thursday to the 900 block of 20th Avenue South on reports of a shooting. When they arrived, authorities said they found a 31-year-old man had been shot. Despite life-saving efforts, police said the man died at the hospital a short time later.
Investigators said the information they’ve gathered thus far “indicates the shooter was known to the victim,” but they currently do not have anyone in custody.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the man’s name and official cause of death in the coming days.
