Chisago County (trfnews.i234.me) — Ashlee Rose Klapperick, 36, of Coon Rapids, is facing serious charges after allegedly causing a head-on crash while high on meth that killed her 4-year-old son and injured several others on March 14, 2025, along Rush Lake Trail in Nessel Township.

Authorities say Klapperick veered into oncoming traffic, crashing into a minivan carrying three children and their mother. Both vehicles sustained major damage. Klapperick’s 4-year-old was unresponsive at the scene and later died at Regions Hospital. A second child in her vehicle suffered a broken collarbone.

Klapperick admitted to using meth days before the crash. Deputies found meth residue and paraphernalia in her car, and she showed signs of impairment at the scene.

Klapperick faces six counts of criminal vehicular operation and is being held on $150,000 bail. Additional charges are pending.
