imagine being so morally and ethically corrupt you'd be against safety…
As someone who smells the stench of weed as people come into our store EVERYDAY, the cops will get a lot of people with this devise.
I demand roadside anal probes to test for caffeine. Safety first
So does it say how much is detected or just if there is any thc in your system? Looks like something they would sell at wal mart 🤣
Whats the .08 of weed?
if cops want to get impaired drivers, just sit across the street from any pub in small towns. I can bet good money 100% of the stiff walking dudes are drunk when they drive away.
The tests can only be used on a voluntary basis and the results are not permissible in court. Also costs the state big bucks for each test.
All the while tigerswan is distributing fentanyl and poisoned weed. Poisoned with mold and yeast. Just like the food in grand forks. Any one wonder what the chemicals are in the COVID vax?? Cmon Lord help us please
Now I enjoy cannabis, but this device only checks if you have drugs in your system. But cannabis can stay in your body up to 30 days,so how is this machine going to know if you are high or just enjoyed some cannabis 2 weeks ago?
Hahaha! Just remember, YOU wanted it "legalized"😂
The police of Hopkins would make a lot of arrests in my neighborhood if they are allowed to pull cars over by stench coming out of people cars. LOTS of people in my neighborhood are smoking it as they drive like it is no big deal.
UNCONSTITUTIONAL, not legal in courts.
put dat lil gadget in me bumbum
I smell something fishy here
Funny to watch the comments, when people cry "unconstitutional" you know right away who the Cheech and Chongs are. I do not care what people do in their own homes, but this will just stink up the city just like Vegas and Denver. People have no respect for others as they blaze skunk weed outside Restaurants, Movie Theaters, casino's etc. Not to mention the added danger of high drivers. I guess being a North Dakota guy who comes to MN quite often, I will definitely rethink it. Rocktember will stink to high heaven.
This is just stupid to allow these failed devices to be in the hands of police. It has been shown for years that they have an incredibly high (no pun intended) false positive rate, as high as 87% for cocaine, and around 25% for THC. This product is a rebrand of a much older product that was proven so often wrong that they couldn't sell it anymore, so they rebranded. The program is already a failure in Michigan, so why is Minnesota wasting taxpayer money for this scam?
This is dumb lmao
Not enough information. Are the tests legal? Are the tests accurate? the field drug tests used now are not accurate too many items test positive that are candy food or drinks. The lawyers will benefit the most.
Does it test if a person is actually high, or just has pot in their system? Big difference. Pot can be detected in bodily fluids for weeks after use.
Wack
What a joke.
This is racist
Well i smoke and everyday of court it gonna be in my system this is dumb af. Cant wait until jesus christ comes and saves me from thia world.
Well this is all fun and games till im consistently eating my cannabis in edible form. My cannahoney hides the taste so well. Interesting.
Excellent news!! Buzzed driving is drunk driving!!
And other drugs is the important part in Minnesota I think it's illegal to have any amount of schedule 2 in your system while driving even if you have a prescription so that means everyone getting Adderall or any pain meds can't even drive to the pharmacy to get them so they can get charged with a DUI have to get an attorney have to get there doctor to come and testify that they were not impaired. Pay attorney fees possibly lose the job. The drug schedule what based on addiction possibilities or abuse. Not impairment who's to say somebody couldn't be extremely abusing or schedule 3 and far more messed up than somebody that's taking a schedule to add medication
This report is completely false. Not the device, but Mn. State Patrol and other local police forces are testing many different solutions, that is to say there are several devices being tested currently. Not one has passed as of yet. Man. State Patrol is currently relying on roadside sobriety tests.
Waste of our taxpayers money, not to mention our police officer's time. What a bunch of BS. Which one of idiot officials came up with this?
This is so stupid! I don't smoke marijuana but I do advocate for those who choose to. This is just another way for the state of MN to attempt to make more money.
Even as a person that has a bunch of college certifications I can say that a saliva test will not stand in court because of the endocannabinoid system differential between subjects. They would have to prove with out a doubt that your actions were being influenced from the THC in your system. Personally I'd like to go to the state driving facility and smoke with a cop watching to show them what truly to look for
This is a poorly done news story bias and fallacy this does not detect impaired driving nor does it save lives
Minnesota has a new tool to extort money from Cannabis users that should be the lead
Minnesota has more problems than this to worry about!
Marijuana is legalized FOR THE RICH ONLY in MN. Only if you own a house. Who is doing the training? Who is selling the tests? Who is making the money? We know these don’t work. Colorado went through it. Never admit to anything. Plead the 5th right when you the police ask you questions. They are NEVER GOING TO HELP YOU. They are looking for convictions to make money. It’s disgusting. We know the war on drugs is racist. Let’s wait and see how many people of color get arrested. This is a BLATANT cash grab. I’d even say that it could be a crime. We are wasting tax payers money on something Colorado already did. Pretty sure if I tried to swindle taxpayers out of money I would get arrested. Why the double standards? Why can the Medical Companies get away with moving Cannabis over state lines? A federal crime. And they got a slap on the wrist. Anyone else? They’d be screwed. If the legal system were fair Donald Trump would be in jail for ATTACKING THE CAPITAL. Native Americans wouldn’t be fighting for their Treaty rights. Treaties are THE SUPREME LAW OF THE LAND. Some people are above the law.
Stopping people randomly is unconstitutional. But our communist state hurled the US constitution in toilet long ago.
