According to the report, the call came in at 6:22 a.m. on Jan. 1.

What police say happened

Police said Tristin Breiland of Thief River Falls was driving a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 southbound on Horace Avenue.

According to the report, Breiland lost control of the pickup on an icy roadway.

The report says the pickup then struck a light pole.
