SARTELL, MN (trfnews.i234.me) The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office now says a car pulled from Mississippi River at Sartell, Minnesota was the one reported missing in 1967 and human remains it it are believed to be Roy Benn, the man who was reported missing.
This update now from the Sterns County Sheriff’s Department regarding human remains found inside a car pulled from the bottom of the Mississippi River. It’s believed to be the remains of a man missing since 1967. Uh this from the Sterns County Sheriff’s Department. On August 13th at 6:30 p.m., a dive team with the assistance of a towing was able to recover a vehicle from the Mississippi River in the 300 block of Riverside Avenue North in Sartell. Uh the car appeared to be a 1960s era Buick and re was removed fairly intact from the water. The vehicle was brought to the Sartell Police Department for further investigation and processing by the Minnesota BCA. Uh during the processing of the car, human remains were discovered inside. Along with these human remains, investigators were able to positively identify the car by its vehicle identification number as belonging to Roy Ben. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office has an open missing person’s case on Mr. Ben after he disappeared in September of 1967. The human remains were transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation and possible uh um identification. Based on the human remains, items found in the car and verification of the VIN number of the vehicle. Sheriff’s office believes this to be Mr. Ben. And that was from the uh Sterns County Sheriff’s Department. Uh according to a release back in 1967, uh Mr. Ben went missing from uh Sock Rampus and was uh apparently carrying a large amount of money. We’ll keep you updated on this developing story.
