KARLSTAD, MN (trfnews.i234.me) The Kittson Counth Sheriff’s Office has now confirmed the resident at home just west of Karlstad, Minnesota died on an apparent gunshot Saturday morning. Officials say no one is in custody, but there is not believed to be a threat to the general public. The official cause of death has not been determined yet.
Bob Carlson here with a breaking news update out of Carlstead, Minnesota. A resident at this home just west of Carlstead was shot and killed early on this Saturday morning. Uh an intruder, the suspect, is on the run. >> This now in from the Kitson County Sheriff’s Department. At approximately uh 1:11 a.m., Kitson County Sheriff’s Office received a call for service to this home along C Highway 11. The reporting party said an unknown person had entered their home, assaulted them, and now had the reporting party’s firearm. A shot was then heard, and then the reporting party was no longer responsive to the 911 dispatcher. When deputies arrived on scene, they located a deceased person and recovered a firearm from near the deceased body. The University of North Dakota’s forensic pathology will conduct an autopsy to confirm the cause and manner of death. The person will be identified once the preliminary autopsy and family notifications are complete. The death investigation is ongoing and will be informed by the autopsy results. Investigators have not identified an immediate threat to the public. The Kitson County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted with its investigation by the Minnesota BCA and was assisted at the scene by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Tri County Ambulance out of Carlstead and Minnesota State Patrol, Thief River Falls District,” unquote. Again, that’s from the Kiten County Sheriff’s Department. a resident of uh Carlstead, Minnesota, shot and killed on this Saturday morning.
