Call for medical help
The Ransom County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called at 8:36 p.m. Deputies responded to a request for medical help. The call came from the 7500 block of 145th Avenue Southeast, near Milnor.
Victim describes shots fired
Deputies found a 23-year-old man who reported he was hit by gunfire. He said an unknown vehicle drove past his location. He reported shots were fired from that vehicle. He said he could not identify the vehicle.
Authorities say the victim could not describe the suspect vehicle. No further suspect details have been released. Investigators have not announced any arrests.

Medical update
Emergency medical crews treated the victim at the scene. He was then taken for further medical care. Officials have not released his condition.
The sheriff’s office says the victim’s name will not be released. The decision follows a request for privacy from the victim and family.
