Obituary | Margaret Ann Francis of Thief River Falls, Minnesota

Margaret Ann Francis (Bynum), 73, of Thief River Falls MN, was born October 14th, 1951, in Madison Parish, Louisiana and died November 27th, 2024, at 3:45 am in Grand Forks, ND, after over a yearlong battle with Cancer.

Memorial service will be 11:30 AM Friday, December 20th, 2024, at The Kingdom Hall in Thief River Falls, MN.

A reception and lunch will be at 1 PM Friday, December 20th, 2024, at Obit, Thief River Falls, MN.

She grew up in Madison Parish with her parents, Lillie and James Bynum and 10 siblings.  In 1973, Margaret met Leon Francis, and they were married in August of 1974. This loving union produced six children in short order.  They built a life together in Jonesville, Louisiana, starting several businesses and raising their growing family.

Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her children, Leonna Joy, Leon (Jr), Josie Leah, Marcus Anthony, Lionel Rory and Lauren Michell Francis, her many grandchildren and other family and friends. And her first love, Leon Francis Sr.  In their later years, they put down roots in Thief River Falls, MN to be closer to the family.  Margaret worked for many years as an associate at Walmart, where she was awarded several times, employee of the month, for her strong work ethic and great customer service.

Margaret and her husband Leon Sr. were faithful members of the local Kingdom Hall and have put many faithful hours serving and spreading the word of God (Jehovah/YHWH).

Primary among Margarets accomplishments was the raising of her six children, whom she held as her pride and joy.  Our grandmother (Lillie Bynum) often remarked at how Margaret would ‘Shine us up like new pennies’.  She was an excellent seamstress and in the early years, would make our clothing for us.

Her focus was always her Faith and her Family. Her legacy is one of kindness and generosity. Unshakable faith that she joyfully shared with everyone she met. Even when sick and in pain, her primary concern was for her loved ones. Her life served as a testament to her faith and her memory is a blessing to us all.  Her passing leaves an unfillable hole in our hearts, but we take comfort in the knowledge that she is at peace, and no longer suffers.  She was the epitome of the ‘Good and faithful servant’, and we look forward to the day we will see her again.
