Ray Larson – Obituary

Ray H. Larson, age 96, of Tabor, MN passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024 surrounded by his family at Valley Senior Living of Grand Forks, ND.

Ray Harley Larson was born December 12, 1927 in Grand Forks, to Julius and Esther (Erickson) Larson four minutes before his twin brother Ralph. He grew up in rural East Grand Forks and graduated from Senior High School in 1945. Both brothers were drafted into the army and honorably served. Upon returning Ray met and married Irene Pulkrabek on June 19, 1951 in Tabor, MN. Ray was a lifelong farmer, proudly passing down his passion to his sons and grandsons.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Irene Larson of Grand Forks; sons Jerry (Nancy) Larson and Eric (Karen) Larson all of Tabor; daughter Bonnie (Scott) Knutson of rural Fisher; grandchildren Brian (Holly) Larson, Jeffrey (Bethany) Larson, Bradley (Danielle) Larson, Chad (Anna) Larson, Kari Larson, Austin Knutson, and Matthew Knutson; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Julius and Esther, sister Lorraine Black, brother Milton Larson, and twin brother Ralph Larson.

The Larson family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the wonderful Hearthstone staff, Chaplain Bud Johnson, and everyone at Valley Senior Living for all the care and compassion they have shown Ray for the last year and a half. The entire family will never forget the kindness shown to all of them.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2:30 PM on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Valley Senior Living, 4000 24th Ave. S. Grand Forks, ND 58201. Service will be live-streamed on Ray’s page at www.dandahlfuneralhome.com

VISITATION: One hour prior to the memorial service.

INTERMENT: Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery at a later time.

MILITARY HONORS PROVIDED BY: The North Dakota National Guard and the East Grand Forks VFW Post #3817 and American Legion Post #157.
