GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) — A Grand Forks man, James William Laducer Jr., 36, was arraigned following a preliminary hearing on Monday, Dec. 2, which found cause to proceed with charges against him. Laducer pleaded not guilty to five felony counts linked to a domestic incident in October.
He faces three Class B felonies for endangering by fire or explosion with extreme indifference, each carrying a maximum sentence of 10 years. Additionally, Laducer is charged with two Class C felonies: preventing arrest and domestic violence causing serious bodily injury.
According to court documents, on Oct. 23 at 10:21 p.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance where Laducer allegedly assaulted a woman, causing injuries that required hospital treatment. He is also accused of starting a fire inside the residence, endangering the woman and her two children.
During his arrest, Laducer resisted officers but was eventually detained and transported to the Grand Forks County Correctional Center. He remains in custody on a $100,000 bond. His next court appearance, a final dispositional conference, is scheduled for Feb. 27 at 1:30 p.m.
