Jeraldine “Jeri” Thompson, age 81, of Ada, MN, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026, at her home.
Jeri was born on January 19, 1945, in Roseau, MN, to Louis Norman LaVoy and Connie Larson. She grew up in Greenbush, MN, alongside her three sisters, Joanne, Joyce, and Jeanette, and her brother, Jeffrey.
She was united in marriage to David C. Thompson, and together they were blessed with five children: Kevin, Chad, Lonnie, Kristi, and Bobbi.
Early in her working life, Jeri spent time working at Northern Pride. After graduating from high school, and driven by a passion to care for others, she attended East Grand Forks Technical College where she earned a two-year degree as a surgical secretary, followed by a degree as a surgical technician. She then enrolled at the University of North Dakota, earning her Bachelor of Science degree as a Registered Nurse. Following graduation, Jeri dedicated herself to healthcare work as a traveling nurse.
Jeraldine leaves behind a family who will remember her in their own deeply personal ways. Some memories bring comfort, while others carry the tenderness of words left unspoken and time that cannot be reclaimed. Through it all, there is room to honor her life, grieve her passing, and wish her peace. Her life was part of a larger family story, holding memories, connections, and a place that will always be hers.
Jeri leaves behind her children: Kevin (Sherrie) Thompson, Chad Thompson, Kristi (Tim) Numedahl, and Bobbi (Dan) Adams; grandchildren: Nicole (Collin Russell) Thompson, Chris (Korbi) Thompson, Amanda (Mike) Larson, Dani (Tyler) Leverington, Nick (Trish Magnusen) Adams, Cambell (Sarah) Thompson, Randi (Kelvin) Brandl, Morgan (Ross) Stewart, David Thompson, Jacob Numedahl, Raynee Thompson, and Alex (Miracle) Adams; and great-grandchildren: Rose, Ephram, Sydney, Eliana, Eleanor, Ashkan, Addison, Emerson, Madilyn, Wyatt, Brooks, Sage, Xander, Jolene, Banks, Stevie, Oliver, Mikel, and William.
She is preceded in death by her son, Lonnie Thompson, and grandson, Zackary.
As her family says goodbye, they honor her life and hold close the love that remained. May she rest in peace and may those who mourn her find comfort in one another.
A private family service will be held.
